We don't know the fellows who have put our frame up, but they leave some sweet little touches around the house.
This is the top of a Milo dessert tub, stuck to a bit of the frame for safe keeping.
This little creature is made from mortar, nails and whatever those metal things are - they do make good legs and feet.
For Dad (who would rather see photos of our house than of Andrew and Bethany ;), here are some photos Andrew took on the weekend.
This is the kitchen - the low window is above the sink.

Awards
We had an early dinner and were all ready to head out to Joyes Hall for Jossie's presentation night, when Shep texted Andrew, telling him to pack an ebook, sunglasses so people couldn't tell when he was asleep and not, under any circumstances, to take Bethany. So, Bethany and I stayed home and missed seeing Joss on stage receiving her award for coming first in music. They got home at 10pm - on a Thursday night!
Bethany has been keeping very busy, writing on Christmas cards for every child in her class. She can be so industrious when she is on a mission. Yesterday afternoon she spent a couple of hours writing a book. She brought it out to me in installments and I was really enjoying it. Sadly, when she was finished, I stapled it and we discovered she had written too close to the edge and pulling it apart again was a bit traumatic. I hope she hasn't destroyed it because I need to find out what happened in the end!

Progress
There will come a time when the progress is less obvious, but for the moment, every day seems to bring something exciting to look at. We have windows and garage walls!

Kids' Club
Just like that, Kids' Club is over for another year. For the last term Bethany has loved being able to have fun with all the older kids and we have loved having all three kids going to a youth group on Friday nights. It's three different car trips, admittedly easier while we have been in town, but well worth it.
The final night for Kids' Club was at the Botanic Gardens with games, a sausage sizzle and special train rides. I had forgotten to wear closed shoes, so Andrew went with Bethany and I gave them my camera.
Now I can no longer ignore that we are ploughing through December and I really need to get organised. Operation Organise Christmas starts today.

I'm not scared
Last month, my book club read Niccolo Ammaniti's I'm Not Scared. Some of us were underwhelmed, others actively disliked it, finding it disturbingly dark. There were things about it that I liked, the scorched Italian countryside for one, but I felt something was lacking. We thought it may have been a poor translation from the original Italian.
This evening we watched the film and all concluded that this is one of those very rare cases where the film is better than the book. The film was quite lovely, and so was the Crust pizza we ate! When I got home, I hugged Toby for an extra long time, realising that he is ten years old and in grade five, just like Michele and Filippo in the film.
In other news, I got the job I was interviewed for last week. Come mid-January, I am moving on. It will be very sad the leave the library, though I will still work with Wagga Library, as well as all the other branch libraries in the Riverina Regional Library, as Outreach and Promotions Co-ordinator.

Make your own fun
I'm not sure where it came from, but we have a little ball of blue putty that the kids like to play with and then leave somewhere to give me a fright. As it is hot and raining at the moment, outside fun is limited, so Bethany has been amusing herself inside.
This would have been topical if it were still Movember.
This last one is a clown and she did some juggling to complete the picture.

Progress
I went up to the house last night and walked through. Despite the fact that the walls and roof can be seen through, it feels like a house inside. The concrete outline you can see at the bottom left is where the garage will go. I'm not sure why it is going up later.
We have had some very hot days and I, for one, have been glad not to be a builder. The library is beautifully cool and our house is on the top of a hill, fully exposed to the sun. How do builders keep up their strength? Coke, creaming soda and white bread sandwiches, but not the crusts!
